Social Links

Add and manage social media links on your Surface page.
Connect your social profiles
Social links appear as a row of icons just below your profile header. They give visitors quick access to your profiles on Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, GitHub, and other platforms -- all without cluttering your page with full-sized blocks.
Adding a social link
- Select the social links section in the canvas, or click the + button to add a new social link.
- Paste the full URL to your profile on the platform you want to add.
- Surface automatically detects the platform and displays the correct icon. There is nothing extra to configure.
You can add as many social links as you need. Each one will appear as a recognizable icon that visitors can tap to visit your profile on that platform.
Supported platforms
Surface recognizes all major social platforms, including Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, GitHub, Facebook, Snapchat, Pinterest, Twitch, Discord, and many more. If you paste a URL that Surface does not recognize, it will display a generic link icon so your visitors can still reach you.
Reordering your social links
Drag any social link icon to change its position in the row. Put your most important platforms first -- visitors tend to scan left to right, so the first few icons get the most attention.
Best practices
- Link to active profiles. Only include platforms where you post regularly. A row of dormant accounts does not help your visitors.
- Put your primary platform first. If most of your audience finds you on Instagram, make that the first icon in the row.
- Double-check your URLs. Make sure each link goes to your actual profile page, not a post or a search result.
