Customize the look and feel of your Surface page with themes.

Set the mood for your page

Themes control the overall look and feel of your Surface page -- colors, backgrounds, and visual style. A well-chosen theme makes your page feel intentional and on-brand, so your visitors get a polished experience from the moment they arrive.

Choosing a theme

Open the theme settings from the builder sidebar. You will see the available theme options that you can apply to your page. Click any option to try it out. The canvas updates immediately, so you can compare options without committing to anything.

Light and dark mode

Surface offers both light and dark base modes. Light mode uses a bright background with dark text, which works well for clean, minimal pages. Dark mode flips that to a dark background with light text, giving your page a bolder, more dramatic feel. Choose whichever fits your brand or personal style.

How themes affect your page

Your theme applies globally. When you change your theme, every part of your page updates together -- your profile header, social links, content blocks, and background all shift to match. This keeps your page visually consistent without you having to style each section individually.

Previewing before you publish

Use the preview toggle in the builder to see exactly how your themed page looks to visitors. Check it on both desktop and mobile views to make sure everything reads well at every size. Your theme is not visible to the public until you hit publish, so feel free to experiment. Try a few different options and preview each one before deciding which look represents you best.
