Managing your account

Your account settings let you update the core details tied to your Surface account. Open the settings area from the navigation menu in your dashboard, and you will find these options.

Changing your email address

To update the email address associated with your account, go to the account settings section and enter your new email address. You will receive a confirmation email at the new address to verify the change. Until you confirm, your existing email stays active.

Updating your password

You can change your password at any time from the account settings section. Enter your current password along with a new one. Choose something strong and unique to keep your account secure. If you signed up with a social login like Google, you can set a password here to enable email-and-password sign-in as an alternative.

Deleting your account

If you decide to leave Surface, you can delete your account from the bottom of the account settings page. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

When you delete your account:

• Your published Surface page is taken offline immediately.
• Your handle is released and may become available for others to claim.
• All of your data -- blocks, links, analytics, and uploaded images -- is permanently removed.

If you are on a paid plan, make sure to cancel your subscription before deleting your account to avoid being charged after your data is gone. Take a moment to consider whether you might want to simply unpublish your page instead.
